Pulse Personal Training is unique in Central Oregon by providing both mobile on-site fitness services and facility based training.  Whether engaged in a personalized one-on-one setting, or conducting a Boot Camp, Pulse Personal Training is always focused on educating clients to achieve their goals.  Some clients look for minimal guidance and wish to proceed on their own while others desire a regular setting with accountability.  Either way, with knowledge as your foundation, you receive high-quality training services designed to motivate and empower your way to healthier and more athletic movement that is balanced and pain free.

About Our Trainers

Steve Utzman

Education & Certifications:

  • BA – Biology, California State University at Fullerton
  • BA – Chemistry, California State University at Fullerton
  • Certified Personal Trainer, American College of Sports Medicine

Background:

Originally from southern California, Steve comes from a strong background in engineering and technical management, working in the semiconductor industry. As an avid skier and cyclist, he made a career change seven years ago. After volunteering as an intern working with children with Spina Bifida and Cerebral Palsy, and personally experiencing his own rehabilitation from a shattered patella, Steve combined his passion for corrective exercise with strong analytical skills in the pursuit to apply science to fitness.

Steve believes that all forms of movement should be corrective. From his own rehab experience, he learned first hand that lasting gains in fitness are achieved only through a hierarchy of exercise programming: First, take care of joint health; then address your range of motion; and, lastly, consider the elements of strength, power and endurance.
